Our client a financial institution based in Leicester city centre is currently seeking a Commercial Loans Officer. The successful candidate will ensure all post-sanction administrative procedures are completed in a timely and compliant manner, in line with their policies, procedures, and guidelines together with all appropriate regulatory and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the work distribution and support the Senior Lending Ops Manager with priorities in the team

  • Work with the Relationship Team to deliver targeted levels of loan drawdowns each month

  • Monitor and drive progress on pipeline loans, striving to turn around all cases within requested timescales

  • Manage a caseload of transactions to pay out, ensuring compliance with the credit approval, the institution's Lending policies, protocols, and all regulatory and statutory standards

  • Build and maintain good working relationships with all legal and intermediary partners to ensure a smooth and timely exchange of correspondence and communication. Manage all broker and customer liaisons from approval onwards.

  • Coach team members on effective strategies to achieve the highest levels of quality communication and mutually collaborative strategies

  • Lead the training of new starters and those on development pathways to become highly skilled with high-quality outputs

  • Continuously review, develop and improve systems and processes within the team to ensure the highest levels of efficiency, accuracy, and quality are achieved in the delivery of post-sanction administration

  • Play a leading role in the review and improvement of existing systems, and the development and implementation of new financial operational, and technological solutions. Successfully embed new and enhanced systems within the team

  • Maintain and update customer records, ensuring clear sanction audit trails and full compliance with their GDPR data retention policies and Financial Crime standards

  • Ensure team-wide compliance with their lending policies, protocols, and procedures, together with all appropriate regulatory and statutory requirements, by implementing effective systems, processes, and actions that protect the institution's business at all times

  • Communicate relevant information and updates to all levels of the business and with all relevant stakeholders on a timely basis

  • Identify, develop and implement appropriate MI to allow the team to perform effectively and achieve efficiencies

  • Previous commercial lending experience ideally within the SME Accounts/Finance, real estate, or conveyancing.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm - 1-hour lunch

Salary: £30k - £40k doe
